UM Memorial Hospital Foundation to Host Estate Planning Seminar
University of Maryland Memorial Hospital Foundation will host “Estate Planning is for Everyone – and that includes YOU!” on Tuesday, March 28 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at UM Shore Medical Center at Easton’s Nick Rajacich Health Education Center. Guest speakers for the seminar will include Elizabeth Spurry, CFP, CTFA, president, Tred Avon Family Wealth; Frederick Hopkins, JD, CFA, director of Wealth and Fiduciary Planning, Wilmington Trust; and Billy Weber, president, Billy D. Weber & Associates.
The informative seminar will cover exploring the many facets of estate planning, overview of wills, trusts and other estate planning tools, a discussion of eldercare issues and identifying the risks of poor planning.
Spurry is president and owner of Tred Avon Family Wealth in Easton. She is a Certified Financial Planner and Trust and Financial Advisor. She is actively involved with the Women and Girls Fund, For All Seasons, The Sultana Education Foundation, the May Foundation and the Planned Gifts Committee of the Hospital.
Hopkins joined Wilmington Trust in 2013 with considerable tenure in the wealth advisory business. He holds a J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law, where he was an editor on the Business Lawyer, and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Williams College. He is a CFA® Charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute, the Baltimore CFA Society, the Maryland State Bar Association, and the Baltimore Estate Planning Council. He currently serves on the Investment Committee for the Episcopal Diocese of Maryland and the Board of Trustees of Friends of Clifton Mansion.
Weber is president of Billy D. Weber & Associates, formed in 1990 and functions as an independent Life and Health insurance agency. He has over 37 years of experience coordinating with the legal and accounting professionals to package the most appropriate and competitive products for family financial security, including estate planning and business planning.
